I have played similar games before, and I like that they involve paying attention instead of simply waiting for an animation to finish. Even though luck is still part of the experience, the gameplay feels more active because every round keeps you watching what is happening on the screen. I also appreciate that the rules can be understood in just a few minutes, so there isn't a long learning process before getting started. These kinds of games work well when I only have a short amount of free time but still want something engaging.
